Dr Max Lim graduated with honours and Masters of Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy with The University of Melbourne. He has been passionate about sporting injuries and completed his Masters of Sports Physiotherapy in 2010. He has been involved with many sports club and teams ranging from Australian Footy, table tennis, athletics, swimming and has vast experience travelling such as the Beijing Paralympics in 2008. Additionally, Dr Max Lim has also been awarded the title of “clinical exercise specialist” with the American College of Sports Medicine and is certified aquatic therapist to widen his repertoire of clinical skills. Besides treating sports related injuries, he enjoys sports at a higher level and had participated in multiple triathlons and swimming. He also represented Singapore in the Asian Games and World Youth Olympics in table tennis in his younger days.
Dr Max Lim is passionate about research and evidence-based practice. In 2012, he completed and published his thesis on “Neck muscle activation patterns in table tennis players with and without neck pain” when he completed his Doctor of Clinical Physiotherapy in The University of Melbourne.
Most recently in 2013, Dr Max Lim has been awarded the title of a Specialist Physiotherapist by the Australian College of Physiotherapist and is now a fellow of the college. Fellowships of the Australian College of Physiotherapists are national awards that are granted to members of the Australian Physiotherapy Association in recognition of high standards of clinical skill and scholarship. They are the leaders of the profession and are entitled to call themselves Specialist Physiotherapist and use the post nominal FACP.
Dr Max Lim began his private practice Maxvale Physiotherapy in 2009. Maxvale Physiotherapy grew rapidly in a short period of time and has eight different branches across Melbourne. He has been continuously involved in business management and staff training. Dr Max Lim has great passion in clinical teaching and mentoring. He is currently involved in mentoring Masters students and coaching overseas trained physiotherapist.
Dr Max Lim practices highest level of clinical skills and is meticulous with his assessment. He is well known for his clinical expertise, great communication skills and caring nature.
Dr Max Lim is fluent in English, Mandarin, and Teochew.
Out of clinical work, he enjoys a great workout with running, swimming and keeping fit.
